Road layout signs

Road layout signs are white triangular signs having a red border and a black pictogram that depicts what the layout of the road is ahead. These signs are used to portray such road layouts as a major crossroad ahead, a T-junction ahead or a merge into a major road ahead. They are usually self-explanatory, and do not carry any text. The width of the different roads in the pictogram signifies which of the roads is a major and which a minor road. Road layout signs may also be used to advise drivers of such hazards as steep hills, bends, slippery road surface and even crosswinds. These signs are advisory signs only, telling drivers of what lies ahead and enabling the driver to take action if necessary.
