Road comprehensive signs

Road comprehensive signs indicate that a road or part of a road is subject to comprehensive regulations and/or restrictions. These signs are rectangular with a white pictogram on a blue background and they have a red border. When the rules depicted by the road comprehensive signs no longer apply, the sign is repeated but has a red cross through it. Typical examples of these signs are the sign depicting a highway and that depicting a built-up area or an area where motorists are likely to conflict with children or pedestrians. Armco Signage manufactures a comprehensive range of road traffic signs of all types for South Africa’s roads. This range of signs includes:
- Regulatory signs – including road comprehension signs
- Signals
- Warning signs
- Combination signs
- Guidance signs
- Information signs
- Temporary signs – Warning, Regulatory, Information, Guidance, Combination
- Symbolic safety signs
There are only three of these road comprehension signs in use in South Africa, and Armco Signage manufactures them all.
